We're Officially Moved In!

We moved in last weekend and have been busy working - and playing - ever since! Noah loves the backyard...

Working hard packing up the last few things in our old kitchen...pregnant belly and all!

The disaster that was left when the dust settled on Sunday night...

Noah's first morning waking up in his big boy bed - he LOVES it!

First breakfast...

My dad and Jeff worked from dawn till dusk (and beyond) every day - here they are finishing the fence on the front side of our house.

My mom served as Noah's personal nanny while I unpacked inside :-)

My parents and Ray and Tracy got Noah this awesome parking garage playset for his birthday and we saved it for a new-house present. Needless to say, he loves it and it kept him occupied through some of the busyness.

I even got handy with a drill!

Here are some move-in pics that my mom took - thanks again for all your help with the move, Mom and Dad. We couldn't have done it without you!!!!!

Looking at the house from the backyard - that's our master bedroom and balcony above...

Noah's new bed...

Our new bed...

Backyard from the kitchen...

Railing and stairs that Dad built (complete with a lower "Noah railing")...

Dining area, for now...the card table is a nice touch, isn't it? We left our dining table in our old house while we're still trying to sell it.

It's so good to finally be moved in! We feel incredibly blessed and are so thankful for our new home!

Painting

The exterior and interior painting is almost done! Here is a view from our street:

The lighter gray areas are what haven't been painted yet.

These two pictures show the painting on the front of the house from the other street:

The posts for the gate along the front of the house are in - the spaces in between will be filled in by a thin wire mesh fencing so light can still get through to our basement windows.

Basement playroom colors (it's a light slate blue on the far wall):

Stairs to basement are finished:

There's only one coat of this orange in the dining room so far, but we love it!

Lesley's melon laundry room:

Baby brother's room - there will also be an 18" blue stripe 12" up from the baseboard.

Wall of cedar behind the master bed - Jeff's masterpiece!

Guest room:

Noah's room - our best color picks by far!

Cedar Siding Finished

The cedar siding was completed today and the flashing on top of the cedar was almost completed. The Hardi siding is going up, its about 20% done. Inside, the furnace and hot water heater are in and we have water and a sewer connection. All sink faucets are in and working. The plumber has about two more days of work and he'll be done. The electrician has been installing outlets and switches. I finished the cabinet toe-kicks yesterday and made a lot of progress on the drawer pulls today. Noah and Les stopped by with out current neighbors the Sudworths today. It was a nice break for me from the work. Its been a lot, but I am enjoying it. I feel priviledged and blessed to be able to do it.

Kitchen Cabs Part 3, Countertops, and Cedar Siding

Saturday Morning, Noah and I stopped by the "new house" to check on things. We had said goodbye to Grandpa Bob on Thursday morning after 16 days straight of hard work. He is the man and a very talented one at that. We were able to mostly finish up the cabinets as can be seen and we set the footings, beams, and joists for the back deck. The wood floors were stained on Wednesday and it took to Saturday for them to dry. We went with an ebony stain - it looks darker in pictures than it actually is.

Noah loves his new tool - the level.

Here is the range hood surrounded by some custom milled side panels - done by the professional (Grandpa Bob)

Noah enjoys his new race track.
The granite countertops were installed this past Saturday. Its called Kashmir White and we couldn't be happier with the selection.

This is the guest bath in the basement.

This is Noah's and Baby #2's bathroom.

The master bath vanity.

'The powder room's funky little vanity.

The cedar siding started to go up on Friday and should be done some time this week. It wraps around the side of the house to the back and is looking pretty sharp.
